Key Responsibilities:

• Perform accurate repairs to bodywork and panels.
• Utilize specialised tools and techniques for panel beating and bodywork restoration.
• Replace and repair structural components as needed, ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure timely and efficient workflow in the workshop.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
• Keep up-to-date with industry trends and technologies.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Panel Technician or similar role, preferably in an accident repair centre.
• Relevant qualifications in automotive technology or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of vehicle construction, repair techniques, and tools.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• A valid driver's license is essential.

Earnings: Up to £50,000 depending on experience

Job Summary:

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Prep Painter to join our team. The Prep Painter is responsible for preparing surfaces and components for painting and finishing by cleaning, sanding, masking, filling, and priming materials to ensure a high-quality final finish. The ideal candidate takes pride in workmanship, follows safety procedures, and works efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
 
Key Responsibilities:

•   Prepare surfaces for painting by sanding, grinding, cleaning, and masking.
•   Remove dirt, grease, rust, and old paint from surfaces.
•   Apply fillers, primers, and sealers as required.
•   Inspect parts and surfaces for imperfections before painting.
•   Maintain cleanliness and organization of the prep and paint areas.
•   Safely operate sanding tools, grinders, spray equipment, and other shop tools.
•   Mix and handle materials according to manufacturer specifications.
•   Support painters and production staff to maintain workflow efficiency.
•   Follow all company health, safety, and environmental procedures.
•   Ensure quality standards and production deadlines are met.
•   Assist with loading, unloading, and moving parts or materials when needed.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

•  Previous experience in paint preparation, body shop work, industrial finishing, or a related field preferred.
•  Knowledge of sanding, masking, priming, and surface preparation techniques.
•  Ability to use hand and power tools safely.
•  Strong attention to detail and quality.
•  Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
•  Good time management and reliability.
• Physically capable of standing for long periods and lifting materials as required.
 
Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in automotive, industrial, aerospace, woodworking, or manufacturing paint environments.
• Familiarity with spray-painting processes and finishing standards.
• Forklift certification (if applicable).

Working Conditions:

•   Workshop or manufacturing environment.
•   Exposure to paint fumes, dust, and noise; PPE required.
•   May involve overtime or shift work depending on production needs.
